Well as most of you will know, Sega make a whole load of original game famous around the world. These games are fun and always a joy to have a go on.
I Was just wondering from your personal experiences, what is it that makes the games so fun, wacky,original and mnay more things.
IS it the way they have some groovy characters or maybe the fac that graphics are funny or that some modes in teir games are unique.
So please tell me why YOU the player thinks they are good or enjoyable.

The definition of gaming is 8 people huddled round a PlayStation with a copy of Micro Machines V3.
Games are great:
When You run really fast as Mario and run into a wal... *Oomph*
When You drive backwards, round the track in F1 2001 and send other cars, including your own, 50ft in the air.
When You complete a game and get an amazing sense of satisfaction.
When The right music id played at the right time and it plays on your heart (Skies of Arcadia!!)
When You have 4-Players round the TV, with a massive line up of N64 multiplayer titles.
When you get a brand new console and play the first game on it!
When You play with a brand new pad.
Full Stop.

1) It's a game, so it has to provide a nice challenge, something to beat. (A lap time in MSR, your mate on TOCA, Sephiroth in Final Fantasy VII, Germany on FIFA 98 etc.)
2) It has to be playable (good control system, easy to get to grips with.) Good examples are Grandia 2, TOCA, Colin McRae 2, Pilot Wings. Bad examples are RC Stunt 'Copter, Shenmue, Record of Lodosss War, Dino Crisis
3) It has to look good, you're going to be looking at it for a long time. (Skies of Arcadia, any Final Fantasy, Dino Crisis, Resident Evil games, MSR, etc.)
4) It has to have some originality. (A few new levels and moves in Tomb Raider, a new degree of handling in a racer, an engaging storyline, new characters).
5) Lifespan: to make it really worth while, it has to be the kind of game that once you've completed it, you've got to want to pick it up and play it again straight away. (This is mainly down to personal choice of genres, for me RPGs are always long lasting, plus some exceptional driving games like TOCA, and the odd bit of Tiger Woods golf, those will have me coming back for more.
In summary:
1) Challenge
2) Control
3) Comeliness
4) Creativity
5) Continuity

I like games which take me away from this earth and exceed the physical boundries we are held back by.
