If you haven’t done so read the full interview with Shigeru Miyamto at Daily Radar but if you have then read on.

In the Interview Nintendo’s mastermind mentioned we are looking into releasing director’s cuts of old games! Old games, director’s cuts, what could he mean. I presume he means old Nintendo games from the NES, SNES and N64 but what games could he mean?

Well I gave it some thought and then it hit me (It hurt as well) The Legend Of Zelda Ocarina of Time! Remember Nintendo were going to release that add on for it on the 64DD but it failed. Shiguru said it was parts of the game he didn’t finish, could Zelda Ocarina of Time, the greatest game of all time, appear on the Gamecube bigger and better? Nintendo could also improve the graphics, which would be great!

But what else? Well I considered Rare games and I came up with Perfect Dark, remember the face mapping idea was removed from the game and if any of your read N64 magazine you’ll know face mapping is a possibility on the Gamecube! Now imagine Perfect Dark being re-released with face mapping, perhaps a few extra Deathmatch areas and even improved graphics (imagine Perfect Dark with improved graphics is it possible?).

Of course Nintendo would have to sell them cheap or even combine them in the same disc (Zelda and Perfect Dark on the same disc, match made in heaven!). Now the question Shiguru Miyamto was asked was would it be possible to release previous Japan only SNES, NES and 64 games in America and Europe on the Gamecube and Shigsy replied with yes! Japan only games on Gamecube in this country, much like Animal Forest, maybe Doshin the Giant or even Mario RPG. Also very intriguing is that Kanomi can now re-releasing their old Metal Gear games from the NES!

Imagine finally seeing those 64DD games! Indeed these games will have nothing on the brand new ones but it is a nice alternative to backwards compatibility which the Playstation 2 is blessed with!

Here’s to the future

Nintendo are aiming to get a lot of ex PS owners to get the Gamecube, many of which might not have played Nintendo classics.

If they do re release old games though, they had BETTER BE COMILATIONS!

You could fit 100 N64 games onto one GC disk.

I don't expect Nintendo to do that but atleast 5 games in one re release please.
