I thought it would be nice to start a diary. It won't be funny, it won't be a paperback best seller, and go on to make a girly film with Geri Halliwell singing the soundtrack... it's just a bog standard diary. I'll try and update it as much as I can, to show you the progress through the animation.

Why?

Because I can.

Of course, anyone else contributing to the animation, such as Pb, are very welcome to add to it... perhaps we could pile it together at the end, fling it on a DVD, and call it a 'Special Edition', even though it's utter crap.

First of all, if you haven't seen this pic yet, perhaps now is the time to do so.

What I'm basically doing first, is creating all the characters, faces, arms, bodies... so on. I first sketch them in my drawing pad... and then draw them on pc, from what I made.

That was the early Sheepy on the left, and Sniper on the right... unfortunatly, because I smoothed out the face too early, I had to start it again. All it takes away is time though, it will still look the same.

I've nearly finished Sheepys head now, including hair... Fancy a look?

No?

Ah well.

I'll at least give you the choice.

The mouth will need to be made properly, and the eyes could be tidied up...

Apart from that, pretty good I think. It's the first time I've done hair, and I think it looks ok.

Here's something for you to do though... I'm not sure wherever or not to give him ears. I personally don't want to, basically because it's hard, and I'm lazy.

One thing I'm worried about at the moment is lip sync... it's not going to happen. If you have this wonderful vision of all the characters speaking perfectly, get your brain brush, and scrub them clear. You'll get a lovely *mouth open-mouth closed* movement. No more, no less.

And that concludes todays update. I've drawn Ant already, so I may start him tommorrow... or I'll start Sniper again. If you have any ideas, or comments, please put them forward.

Not sure who you're complimenting there.

Sniper needs hair. I really don't know what to do about it... I was thinking of a mohcian, or however it's spelt, but I'm not sure.

Turbo, I'd much rather a 2d sketch... but then, you're not in any of the old stories, so I don't have to worry about that.

No offense, and all, I just need to focus on what I need to do, not what people want me to do.

So... diary addition number two.

First thing I've done is Sheepy's mouth again, and I've completely remodeled Snipers head... it wasn't as hard as I thought. I still had my drawings, it was just a matter of time.

I also drew FantasyMeister today, and I finished off my sketch of Ant. I'll start modelling Ant's face tommorrow, I hope.

Anyway, I've made a render of Sheepys face, with the new mouth. Here we are:

(Don't forget the space...)

I HAVE decided now not to have ears... they won't need them, and they're too hard to draw.

...As an extra special treat tonight, I've got two really cruddy videos for you. One of Sniper's head spinning around, and one of Sheepy's head spinning around. Don't worry about the sizes, they're only about half a meg each.

Unfortunatly for you Mac users though, it's an .avi file... I'm not sure how to make the animation use the Quicktime codec, I'll have to find out for you.

http://swordspines.homestead.com /files/Sniperhead.avi

Both have appropriate backgrounds. I guess a few seconds after Snipers head spins around, it explodes... but hey, I don't have time to do that at the moment.

I might scan in the original sketchs tomorrow... and I might also set about setting up a website for it. But I'll see... I've got enought to do at the moment.

I've still had no offers for help... plenty of people wanting me to do more work though. It would be really nice if someone could do a sketch of a background, of a scene, or something from the first story. Something else that needs to be done is the Millenium Ant.. that needs to be designed...
