I have 37 games and 28 of them are pre owned, do you buy preowned games? or are you willing to pay the full price just to have it straight away?

True. My girlfriend's brother is the manager of a Game and she told me that the last four digits on the barcode is how much the shop paid for the game 2nd-hand. I've started checking it out now and the mark ups are shocking.

Personally, I buy most of my games 2nd-hand, then sell them once I've finished them. Only keep the brilliant titles or ones with good multiplayer. I get most of them on Ebay: sometimes people get the 'buy it now' price badly wrong and you can get a real bargain.

I buy preowned games all the time! Or just games that are reduced. For example I bought top spin for £20.00 and pgr2 for £20.00 in blockbuster. They weren't preowned, just on sale. I buy alot of preowned stuff in GAME and have found them to be of a decent quality. No crappy manuals or scratched discs. Just fine. I only buy new games if its something that I really want or a big game release. I dont think I'll be waiting for Halo 2 to hit the preowned section for example. Not that it will :D Ever I doubt.

I buy pre-owned.

It's cheaper, and you usually get the game good as new anyway.

It's like buying a used-car really, new cars are too expensive.

Its alright saying use Gamestation but there isnt one around my area. Personally I think that new games are nicer as you know that no ones used it before. I dont know whether the previous owner of a game took care of it etc. Plus I saw in the local Game Tekken 4 for £25, when Game sell it brand new on their website for £19.99. Most games now are £29.99, SR sell most at this price or less as well as other major online places.

I actually dont play many games now, I have only recently started playing a game I got a Christmas. I have started playing games a bit now as I have finished Uni and havent got a full time job. I have got some new games at really cheap prices and I doubt you could get them pre-owned at that price.

I'd say GAME are the worst place to buy from - they're over priced, accept stuff in appaling condition, give you very little when you trade in your own stuff etc Gamestation/Blockbuster are best for prices - I'd say Another World also but they limit what they take. Special Reserve rates below GAME in terms of the price they offer you.

Don't know of any online places, eBay is rather obvious no?

Most new games appear in preowned sections within a week or less of going on sale. I didn't used to but now I buy most stuff preowned unless it's a big release/or cheap. you don't get bad cases because you obviously look at the case before you buy, and if you stick to Gamestation (who don't accept crap condition manuals unlike GAME) the manuals are fine. Nearly all my collection looks as new yet it's mostly preowned.

Some games on PS2/Xbox you just cannot easily buy new anyway - so unless you are rich and can buy every game you want the moment it comes out then you'll miss some games if you don't get them preowned.

I buy a lot of my games pre-owned, most the time the look almost new anyway. I can't be bothered paying full price for games that will last me about a week, the cases and discs have always been in near new condition anyway.

Don't see the point in paying a little extra just for a nice looking case. As far as scratches are concerned, I don't care as long as the games work, if they don't work properly you just take it back.
