> Arsenal re on the verge of offering Tettenham player Sol Campbell £200,000 a week to join them!! Apparently this is being brought to light now as the club want to prove to the public that they are committed to winning silverware after a recent blast by want-aeay Patrick Viera!!
I do not believe that can be true. Arsenal have a very tight wage structure. The highest paid players are Bergkamp, Vieira, Adams and Seaman - all of whom are on about £25,000 a week. Apparently they also have clauses in their contracts which state that they must remain the highest paid players at the club. Arsenal are not going to pay Campbell 8 times their current maximum, knowing four other players will have to be given the same.
Despite this I do think Sol will join Arsenal, simply because the player and the players family do not want to leave London. The liklihood is that Campbell will fit in with the current Highbury pay structure but will be given a MONSTER signing on fee.
