Arsenal re on the verge of offering Tettenham player Sol Campbell £200,000 a week to join them!! Apparently this is being brought to light now as the club want to prove to the public that they are committed to winning silverware after a recent blast by want-aeay Patrick Viera!!

what i find amazing is that he will be paid higer wages than ronaldo. isnt £250,000 the highest wages in football? i suppose they can afford it seeing as there is no transfer fee.

Has the world gone crazy?

This is madness. Sol Campbell is a good defender but he is a million miles away from being the worlds best and therefore should not be the worlds highest paid player. Sol is a poor passer of the ball and he has never played in ANY European club competition.

I would welcome the sight of Sol Campbell in an Arsenal shirt but I sincerely hope Arsenal do not pay that sort of money for him. I doubt Arsenal have offered anywhere near that sort of money. At the end of the day it will boil down to wether or not Sol wants to leave the UK and London in particular, remember he has a family to consider.

There are reports that Sol has already had a medical at Arsenal. Also, Arsenal have released their squad numbers for next season and left free the No23 shirt which Sol wore at Tottenham.

Yes united did break thier wage structure for keane, but this resulted in all the other players wanting similar pay packets. All the top stars signing new contracts at utd are now getting a similar deal to keane.

But i can see this happening at arsenal, they cant pay all thier stars £200,000 a week! They dont have the same financial resources as utd anyway.

But lets not forget that man utd had a similar rigid wage structure, and everybody thought there was no way that they would keep Keane for 50k/week, but they did. I think we will see Arsenal similarly breaking their wage structure with Campbell.

I still want him to go to United though....
