Guffaw. It's not a real engine, Sheepy. It doesn't go vroom vroom in the night.
It's just how well the game is programmed basically, meaning the better the engine, the less it requires from your PC, or something like that.

Rome: Total War demo is available in case anybody didn't notice.
Difficult to get a good impression of the improvements from what is there (only the tutorial and 1 battle available). Presentation is certainly much better, fun to watch elephants trample through enemy troops kicking them everywhere.

The graphics card is a piece of hardware, you would need to take out your existing card (if you have one) and install the new one. How old and what make is your computer?
So do I need to take my computer apart or is that software.
