I was wondering if anyone has played both Red Faction and Perfect Dark ?

I have both the N64 and the PS2, and I have to say that I still have not come across a FPS on PS2 that surpasses Perfect Dark (or indeed, Goldeneye).
Just look at Red Faction, yes you can blow up walls but this really doesn't add a whole (not pun intended) lot to the experience.
The Red Faction enemy AI leavew a lot to be desired, (You can be spotted and shot from miles away, as in Timesplitters aswell).... whereas in Perfect Dark on N64 the AI was really impressive, with enemies only responsing to you when they should...

Then look at either Zelda game on N64, nothing comes close to those on PS2 yet... Dark Cloud, don't make me laugh.

I don't want to sound like I'm bashing the PS2, because I really like a lot of the games on it like SSX and DOA2, but I honestly feel that the N64 had superior games from a pure playability viewpoint. I'm dissapointed by the PS2 in general, and I'm hoping things will improve on it.

Can't wait to see how the Gamecube works out. But if the N64 is anything to go by then in my opinion it'll beat the PS2 on the playabiloity front with ease...

Come on PS2 developers, give us a game that is actually worthy of the platform.

And before anyone gives out... yes I have played the MGS2 demo... very very impressed with that, but how long is the overall game, and how much time (if any) do you spend off the boat ?

I doubt that very much (unfortunately).

Does anyone have PC Half Life, and Red Faction on PS2? I'm still not sure about buying RF, especially as the AI in Half Life is so good.

Matey.

You're too right indeedy. Having brought Red Faction last week I too have to admit I've grown somewhat tired of wondering around shooting the not particually active guards. I 2 loved my N64 and have to say I still havn't seen anything to rival PD or Goldeneye. Maybe we'll get lucky and RARE might do something for the PS2?

That's life I guess.
