A hard game is not a bad game.

Also, Astoria is wrong. I tried the battle of jian ye. It's simple enough, just kill the real Sun Jian! After that Sun Ce will take command, then Sun Quan, then SSX. If they're in command they die when defeated and don't retreat.

Also, I don't know why Huangfu Song is

a. leading Cao Cao, Liu Bei and Sun Jian

and

b. in the middle of the castle where no-one can help him

considering how he gets ambushed twice, he's a pretty lousy commander.

That's one of the few downsides to 4: commanders are easier to be defeated.

Keep at it, you'll soon get the hang of it. Don't trust your commander.

By the way, there are some secret levels hidden in musou modes

e.g. Eliminate Zhang Jiao!

You can unlock this by fulfilling certain conditions in levels.

It's often a good idea to let enemy commanders retreat, cause they can give you much more rewards in later levels.

Just getting into 4 now so i would appreciate if you left your opinion till i have finished the game.

Just wait until you're on Guan Yu's final stage - 5 Sun Jians are wandering around at the same time and each of the other Suns (Sun Shang Xiang, Sun Quan, Sun Ce) retreats and reappears every time you defeat them.

IMHO, DW4 sucks compared to 2 and 3

Done the YT stages.

Every final general escaped though.

4, just now im frustrated with the difficulty of the game. First level , i could not believe it. Hangfu Song was killed. It was the first level introducing the game, i mean come on. I would expect the 8th stage to be difficult but that was a dissapointment.

The "secret" depot is SW/S of Yuan Shao's starting pos. It might be smart to leg it round there at the start. The path is marked on the map, so it's dumb when it says you've found a secret path. So, did you do all the YT levels?

What do you think of 4? Is it better/worse than 3?

Are you sure you have the PAL version of DW4? There is a stage where Yuan Shu doesn't give supplies, but it is Si Shui Gate. Anyways, as Xiahou Dun, kill the 3 generals at the bottom of the map. The Yuan Shu lack of supplies message will soon come up. Now, race to the top and round to the North-West. There is a "secret entrance" to the supply depot. When you have claimed it the supplies are sent to Sun Jian, raising his morale. Hua Xiong will then come charging out of Si Shui gate. For the time being defeat the generals harassing Liu Bei and your hero Gongsun Zan. Then charge down to Si Shui gate and defeat Hua Xiong in a duel. Defeat Li Jue's officers and he will flee.

Got 4. Played it and am on Li Su gate with Xiahou Dun. Stuck though, everyu time i get to the bit where Yaun Shu does not give the supplies Zhang Liao comes an is to hard to defeat. He is accompanied by about two or thre generals

You're not kidding. When I got it I played through 50 stages straight. That took me about 18 hours or so.
