Another great gore gangster film by Quentin Tarentino is Reservoir Dogs. The story is very mischievous and confusing at times. The story is a plot that makes the movie a bit of a brainteaser at the start.
Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction are both really great films that are well worth watching. People that have seen Reservoir dogs or Pulp Fiction, will agree that there great movies with great gore.
Whats you favourite gangster movie?
Edward James Olmos directed/starred in this film about the major Mexican Gang.
Since making this, he's gone underground because of death threats from the gang.
A superb, lyrical, intelligent movie about how gangs start, what it takes to be in them and how hard it is to escape them.
Not fast and funny, but one of the best I've ever seen
I can take them or leave them.
Goodfella's was good the first time I watched it, but I don't see the need to watch it every day of my life, quoting the lines.
I enjoy Tarentino's movies though. I like the dialogue.
Gangster films are too samey, ie kid grows up in rough area, gets in with 'the mob' makes a name for himself, goes alone and succeeds, things start to go wrong etc etc.
Throw a few drugs into the story, and a bit of OTT violence, and you've got the basis of your average gangster movie.
If they can avoid going down the same old stereotypical routes, then some very entertaining gangster films could be made. But those stereotypes are just too damn tempting.
Guy Ritchie's english rubbish is just not worth watching.
Thats an excellent film, along with Goodfellas.
