Ok there must be people out there who want to and are clever enough to be game designers/programmers.
If you want to program games then here is a little piece of advice, you need to learn low level programming, and understand most components associated with a PC and Consoles.
If you go to uni a subject like Software Engineering, computer science or Computer Game design would teach you most of what you need to know.

So if you are interested in this. Good Luck.

The course varies from Uni to Uni but in first year you do quite alot of maths courses, programming (usually JAVA), learn about the history of computers, architecture and design of computers, a little statistics,
If you like computers and are interested in a career with them then its a good course. if you have any questions let me know.

People:
IF you want easy tools to make 2d games (much easier than 3d) try Multimedia Fusion, The Games Factory, Click and Create or Klik & Play - all very easy to use I should know I use them myself and have pushed them to the limits.

The Linux kit for the PS2 is available in Japan now. Im not sure if they will be brought out over here but im sure there are many PS2 owners who wouldn't mind trying to make their own games. The kit contains an Ethernet card, 40GB hard-drive, keyboard, mouse, VGA adapter, and technical documentation.
the hard drive can be internal or external (your choice) and is connected by a linkup cable. it is powered by a seperate AC adapter.

This would be a good start if you want to design games for the PS2 or the next sony console but it may not be released over here and could also cost alot.

Now that I have been a Gamestester I would love to become a GamesPlayer. Which in my opinion is a much better job.

I start work for Nintendo (Surrey) in a couple of weeks, but this is kind of crappy helparoundtheoffice job... but one day I will be a GamesPlayer and then I will take over Nintendo....

muhh hahahahah
