It annoys me when people who have something in particular, such as money for example, keep on wanting more even though they have got enough; being greedy.

This is the case with such electrical megastores such as Dixons or Comet. They already have enough, so why can't they 'give' some of it away. They could do bigger sales, cheaper cut prices, or organise giveaways, yet they don't, they just keep on raking in a massive profit after selling products at high, high prices.

Take Dixons. It's worth around £2 billion - so in other words, that is how much they have in the kitty. Yet still they proceed to take our money, which is little compared to the amount they already have. For once couldn't they lower prices just a bit, so the profit they make isn't as much, or even lower them so much that they would lose money on every sale. This in turn, would attract new customers to the store.

This doesn't just apply to games. Everything in these stores has a massive buffer profit. Why do they need so much? I don't know. Dixons in particular are already the biggest electronical retail company in Britain, what more do they need? It just puts me off buying stuff altogether.

Small, independent, one-shop companies almost succeed in doing this. Because they are so small and unknown, and are situated usually in cheap to rent areas, they are able to offer cheaper goods. SR is like this.
Because the bigger companies already have so much money, how can they afford not to lower prices. And what's worse, bigger companies drive the smaller cheaper places out of business, because people think that these bigger companies are better, when in fact they are actually worse.

It seems all people want to do today is to be a greedy filthy rich person. Its the customer that counts. Without customers, there is no business. Companies should respect their customers like SR do, not necessarily by supplying them with a forum and a GAD, because this would not work with large business', but by simply lowering prices.

Thanks for reading - I hope Mr. Dixon or the CEO of Comet sees this!

I bet that's what the CEO of Marks and Spencers thought!! And Tony Blair when he single handedly made the Millenium Dome out of the most expansive LEGO you can buy!! Oh and the FA when they thought about building a new Wembly!! :P

Yeah well it's not likely that Dixons are gonna fold, even if they did lower prices, because they are so well known and are good at tricking people into buying their products. You can't lose 2 billion quid just like that can you? Not likely.

Dixon's have an offer on DC games right now. A damn good offer. Buy one game, get another free (not on new releases). However, this offer is ruined by their incredibly low number of DC games.

Dixons was responsible for freeserve, the first free ISP in the UK, but Dixons so make a bucket load of money, but you are paying for that security, they make bucketloads so they are less likely to fold half way through your 5 year guarantee on your brand new TV. That is what it is all about. SR is some company, been going for years, but it isn't the cheapest place going either, it doesn't offer student discounts, because it's main customer base is students. They can afford to maintain cheaper prices because the rates for storing stock in a warehouse is much less than operating retail units on a nationwide scale. And as for Comet damn their electrical goods are cheap!! Neither do SR offer any sort of loyalty scheme, they rather rely on you being loyal so that you do not feel that your membership fee has been put to waste. They do recieve a massive amount of credit for the effort put into this website, it is ace, but they are no different from your Dixons or Comets.

Sorry, I'll rephrase that: SR is not unknown!

It's not as if megabusiness' have to destroy profit altogether, but to just make less of it, or almost none of it at least!
