The PS2 has in no way justified it's price tag. Just what the hell have we got here? A crap DVD player that stops playing films half way through saying "Cannot read disc"? A console which plays below average standard Dreamcast level generic fighter/racing games? An over priced memory card with Magic Gate technology that has managed to loose my game data repeatedly? Yep that's what I spent £300 + on. "Emotion Engine" Yeah right...
The games are so dull and repetitve! Take Ridge Racer for example. All five (or however many) are exactly the same game. Fueled by media hype and screen shots, the games WILL sell though.
Well I'm fed up with being ripped off with clever marketing ploys.
Since PS2's launch many recent console games just seem to be, well, crap.
I'm sticking with my PC and Half Life ( which came out in '98 and thanks to mods still remains playable to this day. What console game can live upto that claim then?)
With a PC you may have to fiddle around with settings, but you get a much better experience. Higer resolutions, better sound, and frame rates that only console owners can dream off... and... wait for it... you get GAMEPLAY too! Games that are fun to play and nearly always live upto their expectations.
So I *won't* wait for GT3 or MGS2 just to pay £39.99 hoping that the games live upto the media hype. Playing them hopping that something exciting will happen to justtify the cost. Graphics arn't everything. If you want to see special effects rent out a film!
Do any other game players feel the same about this?

I agree with u about the PC's vs Consoles, but may i ask if your a resident evil fan like me y did u get a PS2 instead of a GC?
In a 9 by 6 feet room it is excessive.
