In my local WH Smith shop I was checking out the games on every format, seeing no new games for my Dreamcast I went to the next shelf. I saw a number of ace games with brill graphics, I looked up and I saw the PS2 sign. I did have a massive grudge against Sony and there PS2 as I was a big DC fan, but once I saw those games in the shop and bought a magazine for PS2 my opinions swayed to the side of Sony.

I thought of ways to get money by doing jobs and selling things, and then I thought of my little white box, the one that I had trusted over the years for quality gaming filling in my hours of boredom… My Dreamcast. I am (well was) going to sell it. I found out if I did a car boot sale and sold my DC I could get just enough money for it, with my bro chipping in with his birthday dosh.

But then came the day, my brothers birthday. June the 21st… My brother had got £150 for his birthday, and he dropped out of the PS2 deal. I didn’t have enough money, I was angry with my brother and disappointed.
Then… My brother went out and bought 3 DC games, Silent Scope, European Super League and the game that changed my mind… NBA 2K. I decided to my self that what’s the point of selling my DC, I’ve got al these brilliant games, and I don’t want them to go to waste.
And what happens when games like Shenmue II and Headhunter come out and I can only look at them from the shop window with my mouth drooling over the graphics and the amount of Game play.

I had decided to keep my DC. I’m going to get a PS2 for Christmas, and still keep my little white box. It may be going downhill and loosing fans everyday, but it’s not loosing me. I’m going down with the DC, I’ve been through it’s highest times and it’s lowest times and I’m not going to back out now, I don’t do that to people (or even consoles!)

I’m buying my self an import disc so I can play games from America, mainly the NBA series, where I’m going to get NBA 2k2.

So here’s a lesson to all you DC owners. Thinking of selling a DC, what’s the point of selling it? With Christmas around the corner, (well maybe a few corners) you can get your Gcube, PS2 or Xbox then. But stick with your DC and join the new games like Out-trigger, Shenmue II and Headhunter. Do not back out, DC needs you…
