Been trying out a few new game modes, Leech in particular, and also Shrink. Any game with a team of Monkeys and Robofish with Anaconda playing in the background deserves a medal. It looks hilarious when you have one-shot kills on, slappers only and there's a group of different sized monkeys punching the crap out of each other. The Snowman screaming "I'm melting!" as you lay into him with the flamethrower is genius.
I really can't believe I stopped playing this for so long, it's brilliant. It's no Goldeneye, but still one of the best FPS' I've played.
Oh, and WS, it's brilliant, so shush. :-P

Hey, no need to insult Postman Pat.

Timeless? TIMELESS? Only if you fall asleep at the controls. It's a shoddy attempt at being the new GoldenEye, though it doesn't even match it let alone surpass it.

'nostalgically cool'
'copying' 'lazy' 'cheap' 'rubbish'

What about the 3 or 4 reasons I listed in my original post outlining why I beleive it to be a crock o' crap?

Yes.
Happens all the time. Look at Enter the Matrix: sold like hot cakes and recieved scores mainly in the 8/9 out of 10 range. Yet it was probably the worst game released last year.
Unfortunatly you still haven't progressed past your 'sales figures = game quality' way of thinking. Now we have an even better insight into your gaming:
1) Only buy games that have very high sales
2) Only buy games universally praised
Because of course, magazines are never wrong and the general public isn't full of drooling hedge munchers who couldn't tell Half-Life from Dakatana.

Yep.
Still rate Perfect Dark over it for multiplayer and single player, but it's definetly the best multiplayer shooter on the current consoles.
It came out years after PD on far more able platforms, and yet it couldn't have all the trillions, not millions, of modes and tweaks that PD had. And the single player was poor even compared to the alien PD levels, which still rocked.
Improved single player with a decent story mode, and a wealth of arcade challenges to keep you going after that. Then there's also the timeless multiplayer than can continue for hours on end. The references and similarities to GoldenEye and its gameplay are also nostalgically cool.

In that it's shallow, rushed and could have been done better? Yes.

Exactly, he should go back to his Hannibal Lector-like cell.

Too....much....irony....

Nothing wrong with having an opinion, but it's a good idea to be able to back it up with some sort of proof or reasonable evidence.
Are we supposed to believe that a game overwhelmingly popular on all formats and that was universally scored in the 80-90% range and higher by all magazines is actually crap? Does Whitestripes have more insight into it than all these magazine reviewers and gamers put together? Unlikely.
