And they were allegedly working on a ground breaking title called "Diakatana". The hype for this game was huge. It was going to be the greatest thing ever...
A few years later it was released and turned out to be no good after all. So why is it the work of a genius?
Well half way through the project, Romero must have realised that it could live up to the hype and got sick of it. He left it and concentrated on a title a bit more secretly. So while Diakatana turned out to be rank, this other title came out and hit everyone by storm.
Deus Ex it was called.
Do you see how he managed to help make his game make a large impact by giving it no hype or expectations?

(Now some one's going to tear this topic to pieces by pointing out that either PC magazines were hyping up Deus Ex for ages but I never heard about it or that Jon Romero was nothing to do with the game. Here's hoping no one will!! :-D)
