Or you could go retro and get a Saturn or Megadrive or Snes and so on.
All have a pretty good back catalogue of games, although you have to go a bit specialist to get the Saturn games now, unless you know where to go for them.
But only ONE of these gives you a nice choice of colours, and that's the N64. Available in "Smoke, Ice, Fire, Jungle, Watermelon and Grape".
So the N64 is the only console where when buying it, you get asked "And what colour would you like that in?"
Does anyone actually buy a "Grape N64"?
With the others you have standard black (PS2/Saturn/Megadrive), Grey (PSX/Snes), or the garish off-white that is the Dreamcast.
Does it matter? Choice is good, but when it comes to consoles, black or grey does me every time, and I don't think I'd like a 'grape DC' or a 'watermelon PS2'.
Maybe blue would be nice...

In a way this has already been done, for the GB. You couldm buy clip on covers for it that looked okay, but they made the GB slightly harder to hold...in my eyes anyway. My mate had one but for some reason he had a pink one. Not to sure about his colour choice.
You could also buy a sticker set if you didn't want to take it apart. But are people really bothered about the apperance? As long as it plays the games who cares.

I tried that, it made the casing overheat. I also tried those theme stickers that can make your console look like a scary beastie or one of the Mini's out of the Italian Job, but it's just not the same.

My point is, why didn't Sony/Sega produce a choice of colours in their consoles when N64 did, and did N64's choice of colours actually improve their console sales or not?
Me thinks not, or else Sony would have produced the PS2 in Flame, Khaki, Arctic, Tropic, Storm and Lightning coloured casings to improve their sales as well.
Not quite sure I know what you point is.... Oh yes I do!!!!!!... You're trying to say Black or Grey consoles are the best... you just want everyone to get an X-Box instead of a Gamecube! You fiend!
It won't work... the X-Box games might be good for some but the majority will go for the cheaper, better, prettier, smaller, more comprehendable Gamecube... The games will arrive in floods and the user-base will increase faster than horny bacteria at 37ºC!!
Sorry, my X-Box loving friend but it "ain't happenin"
Gamecube Rules!!!!! <<< Future Prediction

> Coloured N64's look very trendy than the old black ones. :p
I bet you're sitting there in your chrome and leather chair, in your flared jeans, wearing your flower power t-shirt, and typing on a psychadelic keyboard....
What color is your N64 then, ninty-person?
