Ideally about 10-12 people, a password protected server that only we can play on.
Who’s up for it?
You know you want it.
Half-Life
Custom Game
Counterstrike
and you're off.
It really is a good idea to get the bots from counter-strike.net, it's the best way to practice.,
> Now 49 MEg downloaded, but it's Kingpin which is my true love, I can be frequently found dessimating and dismembering the minions on Gamespy, how does this compare??
CS is a lot more like SWAT3, if you've played this you'll know what I mean. If not, then it's just tilted more towards realism than games like Kingpin/Soldier of Fortune are.
Still a great laugh though and games don't last too long usually, so you don't have to wait around to join again.
I suppose that's the main difference between CS and somthing like UT; no re-spawn until one side has won.
Look for one called UKNET BEGINNERS
It's a series of maps for new players, you get booted after 12 kills to protect the other players.
Once we get enough, or if it's just you, me and Hooplah, I'll set one up and let you know the name of it.
You around at the weekend to play?
There are thousands of servers up, but if we can get 10 peep or so, we'll set up a SR server with a password
CS is, without a doubt, the single most enjoyable online game I've played.
Rescue the Hostage, planting bombs..maps on planes, oil rigs, office blocks.
Fantastic fun
Go to counter-strike.net (official site), go to the realbots section on the left and download "Realbots", it lets you run a single player LAN game to practice in.
For practice off-line.
JUst install CS, start Half-Life, Custom Game, Activate and your away.
B to open buy menu for weapons, choose the one you want, get some ammo and you're off.
Fantastic game and you wont touch UNreal again
Loads of download sites.

Out of interest, what Internet provider do you

I use BT internet, but my mate downloaded from CS world I
think as well and his was currupted!
Okay, I was just checking you don't have AOL (yuk)which throws out the same errors as the corrupt download does, when it isn't corrupted it's just that AOL sucks and CS won't work with it. Come to think of it, not much in the way of on line gaming does work with AOL.
No wonder it's free...
