Ok. Just suppose that the Playstation 2 doesn't even exist... infact think that the Playstation didn't ever exist and you can just about follow what I am about to type.. well here it goes.

There can really only be one winner out of the two, the XBox and the GameCube, let me give the result for one then the other and you tell me which one you would choose for the future...remember ONE of the OTHER:

The XBox 2004:

Although the console had many problems at launch, and not many excellent games, many people choose this console rather than the GameCube simply because it was more expensive. The average Johnny onthe street couldn't see how a next generation console could cost £150 brand new and be any good, infact the XBox has reimbursed all its money that Microsoft invested into the project back in 2001. The Xbox has now got the Sega, Namco, Konami, Capcom and nearly all other developers. Due to the huge success of the XBox, Microsoft have named another console project, its project name is 'Playstation'. Nintendo have suffered a new all time low in the way of shares and value, infact the only thing that keeps them from going into meltdown is the GameBoy Advance.

The GameCube 2004:

The games, look at them, even at launch people were asking how the games could get any better, Mario, Zelda, Metorid and now Online FZero with up to one hundred and twenty cars. Not many people saw much in the Xbox, the average Johnny on the street didn't see past Microsofts campaign advertisements and at launch back in 2002 they choose the console that they thought was best and they saved £150. Not bad considering they were paying for all the greatest titles on one console. The GameCube squished Microsoft down to size, and Nintendo last week said they would release a simulator called 'How to launch a console'. Miyamoto last week said hopefully Bill Gates can learn a thing of two from the game...

What was the point of the er-no? Some of you may be asking, well firstly I thought that maybe its about time people started to type as if something like that did happen, what would you pick as the forcast for the future, I am with Nintendo all the way but you can't stop Bill Gates and his simulators which seem to be getting more stupid by the month...

Now to the topic of after the XBox and the Gamecube. Well it really depends on which way the pendulum throws itself, at the moment it is swinging like no other pendulum has ever done before because this time its swinging three ways?

At the moment, even if the Xbox fails we will still see another console from Microsoft, just because they want to dominate all parts of the industrial market in the world, infact I beleive all the companies, Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft will release another console no matter what the outcome of the curretn war. Nintendo are going to have success with the GBA, that will make them a huge profit, Microsoft will always have their nice wallet to dive into and Sony will always have their other lines of business whether it be music or video.

The pendulum can only really swing one way for the outcome, and whatever way ot swings its going to be a close fight, never have three consoles meet face to face at the same time. There can only really be one winner.

As for the future after the Xbox and Gamecube, well your guess is as good as mine, my future forecasts show just two of the endless posibilities of what could happen. All I can really say is that the future is going to be different to anything any gamer has seen before, because this time Microsoft are in the frame, and they won't dismount easily...

Now when is that Apple console going to be released?? iConsole??

Thanks

Rose to the challenge well. But not that well.

I want to be amazed and dazzled by lights and sounds like the new Vauxhall Corsa's indicator sound - very nice click!

Ah well. Good effort Mr no.

I am going to wait before the two consoles are released before I make my final judgement. In the meantime, I stand by my PS2.

Sorry, didn't read the post properly. I apologise. But why would you want to imagine that the PS2 or the Playstation
never existed.

I did not put it down, I did not make any wrong judgement against it. The topic I was given only had the two in it and I also mentioned that the PS2 is still part of the pendulum!
