You know those TV's that have a DVD player built in, and you know those PS2's with the DVD player built in. Why not combine the two?! That way you get TV, PS2, DVD, the whole she-bang. I start an Audio Technology degree this year. If there's not one around soon I think I'll build meself one. It can't be that difficult can it?

Yeah, and with this new combo, wouldn't it have loads of buttons and stuff, making it really confusing. But you got a point - good idea, but i dunno about your 'vision' of doing it yourself - leave it to the experts, whoever they are.

I'll go in with my hammer and loads of nails. It'll look like Homer's shelves in the Simpsons.

Great, three pieces to go wrong in one item.

So if your DVD player breaks, you end up with no games console, no TV as well as no DVD player.

Apart from that, it's a good idea ;-)

Seriously, in about 4 years, when I've finished my degree, I'm going to get my girlfriends TV/DVD and whatever console is the hip't'b'wiv and combine the two. I'm not talking about 2 DVD players, but remove one and use the tray. There'd be no point otherwise.

Yeah that can only happen 'cos sony make all three - PS2, TV's and DVD players, so yeah, but......no. I can't really see it. Sony are too lazy. Sorry
