I bought a UK one hoping to use it on both my UK and US Xboxes. I tried it in the US one but it said my US DVD's were an invalid region. I tried a UK R2 DVD in the US machine and it worked.
I'm guessing a US-bought remote would let you play R1 DVDs in your UK Xbox, meaning instead o hunting down the ever-elusive DVD Region X disc, you could just buy a US remote.
Can anyone confirm this? I'm about to order a US remote anyway as I need it to watch my R1 DVDs with.
And quite alot of dvds have more features elsewhere. The asian r3 versions of kill bill 1 + 2 are both 2 disc edition which have loads of special features, and you get the black and white fight bit in colour.
Also buying R2 and R3 dvds is good because you can get movies uncut more easily. Ichi the killer being just one example. So their pretty useful if your into horror movies or just films with alot of gore in.
By the way the bbfc are odd. Ichi the killer is cut but braindead isn't. WTF?

Actually most of the DVDs from the US are the same as the UK version. Price is actually cheaper in the UK, as looking at Playusa, and other import sites the cost is usually more than the same R2 DVD. Alot of DVDs come out in the US first due to some films being in the cinema alot later in the UK than the US.
24 Season 3 boxset isnt even out in the US yet, Spider-man 2 is out 4 days earlier in the UK.
Look on http://www.dvdcompare.net/ and see the difference between the different regions.
To be honest though, I think it was the Mobo that was the problem - or the power supply. But it was too much hassle to repair it myself when I was going on holiday anyway.

Nah, picked up a new one when I was on Holiday. I chucked the broken one in the bin - after taking the Samsung Drive out and selling it.

Except they come out later and are usually more expensive as well.
