Bill Hicks, my absolute hero and one of the greatest stand-up comedians of all time (he died at 32 of pancreatic cancer) used to use jokes to highlight the injustice, absurdity and plain stupidness of 95% of the world's population.
But he always finished his show with his belief and coda in life, which is something I make sure I remember daily and live by:

"Life is just a ride on an amusement park. It has many chills and spills, it is very brightly coloured and it's fun...for a while.
There are those that have gone on, and they come back to us and say 'Hey, it's just a ride, there's nothing to fear ever because it's just a ride'.

And we...kill those people! 'Shut him up! This has to be real, look at my bank account, look at my children, look at my furrows of worry..this has to be real'.
But it's just a ride.

And here's what we can do right now to change our world, just a choice. No money, no savings, no jobs, just a choice right here and now.
The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your door, stay inside and watch tv.
The eyes of love, instead, see all of us as one and say 'Dont ever be afraid or scared because it's just a ride'.

Why can't we take all that money we spend on weapons and defence each year, trillions of dollars, and instead spend that money feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world? And then we can explore space, both inner and outer, forever. In peace.
It's just a ride folks...nothing more, just a ride."

So, just relax, dont worry about those exams, that job, which console is better, when you can buy the latest designer shoe for £80.
It's just a ride.

That's not what I meant by valuing life. It's not about taking it seriously, like Goatboy said, it's about enjoying it while it lasts. When I'm home, I enjoy talking to friends here. It keeps me entertained, and keeps my mind off things.

Thankfully now, the nights are getting warmer, so it's beach time. First visit this year is tommorrow, I'm hoping the rain will stay off.

If you could make up a story anyway could you make one up about Shocky instead after all if just joined. You would be picking on the little guy and I can fight back so do not underestimate me

Seifer's one of my best friends off the net. I told him about this site and ordered him to come along.

He's new! Let him be for a while lads! Let him find his footing.

Give him a chance! I'm sure he'll be less annoying.

How can you say that you value life? If we all did, there would not be any gamers, as people would have better things to do with their life. If you people actually DID value life (this includes me), you would get off your fat lazy asses, and actually do something to help life, such as campaigning for the ban on landmines, or stopping child slavery and kid soldiers. But we don't 'cos we just think about ourselves. I'm the same. I feel guilty sometimes when i'm on my computer playing away, and i see on the news or TV about all this crap in the world. But in a matter of minutes, its all forgotten. Playing games take you away in a fantasy land so you forget about things that happen around you - including your social life. Now if you excuse me, i'm off.
