Acclaim's gone *cheers*...

Okay maybe I'm overreacting, the once wonderful Acclaim studio's has closed its doors.

It is farewell Shadowman and ta ta to Turok.

As much as I disliked Acclaim in their later years games such as South Park, Turok Rage Wars and WWF Attitude provided much enjoyment multiplayer wise whilst the Turok series as a whole and Shadowman were some of the finest N64 games to date.

I was saddened to see Acclaim defect to the Playstation but it looks to have gone against them.

It does mean though that Worms: Fort may get a Gamecube release after all.

Snap, luckily i managed to punt it off to someone else in exchange for Mario 64. More fool them.

I remember it being fun for a while. But it soon got boring.

South Park was one of the worst games that I've ever played. I bought it because NOM gave it 90%, and I've never bought the magazine since.

I thought it was poor in both areas, the characters moved so slowly it was unplayable.

Acclaim suck and I'm not suprised they went bust. When they consistantly year in, year out continued to make those crappy Legends of Wrestling games it's not really suprising.

South Park was brilliant multiplayer, poor single player.

EA own Criterion now, the makers of Burnout.

They sold all their franchises a while back, so it isn't tata to Turok yet. Can't remember who bought it (check Cube-Europe's news archives if you're bothered) but they'll probably bring the franchise back again to run it further into the ground.
Same for Burnout I'd have thought. Maybe EA have the liscence now?

Isn't it Sega who publish the worms games now?

Just a thought - what's going to happen to games such as Juiced and Burnout?

The coolest ISP ever!
In my opinion, the ISP is the best I have ever used. They guarantee 'first time connection - everytime', which they have never let me down on.
Thanks!
Thank you for dealing with this so promptly it's nice having a service provider that offers a good service, rare to find nowadays.
