Most likely a cash-in - they'd be stupid not to cash in on such a huge franchise.
It is meant to be more comfotable though - I find the original headset does start to make my behind-ear bit a little sore after a while.
It'll most likely come down in price, but if they included it in the limited Edition tin, that would be sweet.
