I have my webcam installed and running. Now I just need to find some software to FTP the images to my website.
I'll blog my progress in this thread so others can try it themselves =) I mentioned before about a friend of mine who set up a site with live feed on his chickens. =)

It depends on your host, my host I just have to add "ftp.mydomain.net" but not sure about your host. Are you with Freeola? If so you should be able to find out the correct ftp address in your MyFreeola settings =)

Wasn't sure what this does so I just left it ticked, heh.
http://www.mydoamin.net
and what about passive mode? tick or untick?
http://www.mydomain.net/webcam.jpg
So it should end up in the same folder as the webcam.html file.
http://www.mydomain.net/webcam.html/webcam.jpg
is that correct format? and should I be in passive mode?

Sure no problem Kev as long as you have a webcam, a website that you can FTP to, then anyone can do this =D
Step 1 - Plug your webcam into your computer.
Step 2 - Download BooruWebCam software. It's free and it's very easy to use.
Step 3 - After you install the software it should detect your webcam straight away. You'll notice a little video box on your screen displaying what your webcam sees.
Step 4 - Right click on this and click
Settings > FTP
. Here you'll have to enter in your websites FTP address, the username, password and where on your site you want the image to be uploaded. Now click "OK"Step 5 - Right click on the box again and scroll to
Settings > Image
. Here you can change the quality of the image that goes onto your site and how often it is uploaded. You can also add a title and a date & time stamp. Click "Apply" and then "OK"Step 6 - Next you need to create the webpage for the webcam image. First you'll want to have the page reload itself and not cache. Add these
meta tags
into the head tags
of your page.<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="30" />
<meta http-equiv="expires" content="0" />
30 represents 30 seconds, change this to however many seconds you want, though 30 seconds tends to be the standard.
Next we have the code to call the webcam image.
<img src="webcam.jpg" width="320" height="240" border="0" alt="My webcam" />
You could have the image any size you want but it's best to go with the resolution of your webcam. To find out what this is, right click again on the video box, scroll to
Camera Settings > Format
here you can see and change the camera resolution.Step 7 - Right click one last time on the video and scroll to
Run
and it will start uploading the images to your website =) Clicking it again will stop it.Hope this helps =)
NOTE: If you want to hide the video feed from your webcam, right click the box and scroll to Hide. To activate it again just click the icon in your IconTray
At 7pm I'll be showing Doctor Who Series 2 =)
