It's just a matter of time now until the 'console wars' begin. Gamers around the world are getting excited about the forth-coming Gamecube and X-box. Games magazines have already travelled to Los Angeles, the host for the biggest gaming exhibition in the world: E3. The directors for the new consoles are beginning to get anxious, whilst making last-minute advertisements.

Nintendo's Gamecube and Microsoft's X-box are coming out to play.

June 15th, and it's not long before the lucky games' reviewists get their sweaty hands on the real versions of games that were only demo's at E3. September it is, when Nintendo's Gamecube is released. Following shortly after is Microsofts weary X-box.

The Japanese, prefering small, compact, portable and space saving forms of technology, turn their heads away at the sight of Microsofts VCR-sized X-box, and turn their heads towards Nintendo's Gamecube. Not only for the size and guaranteed reputation of great games that Nintendo produce, but for the shockingly-attractive price tag.

With Microsoft having a hard time trying to convince the biggest games market industry in the world, that their console is worth buying, Nintendo are sitting smuggly around a meeting-room table discussing what they're going to have for tea tonight.

So, with Japan's console war outcome already predictable, the competition is a lot more intense over in the second biggest gaming market industry in the world: The U.S.A.

Nintendo of America won't be having such an easy, laid back time of it, because of Microsoft's popularity with PC software. In fact, most people would of said, before E3 that is, that X-box would win the console war by quite a fair margin. Of course, that's before E3 they siad that, but now things have just turned even more interesting.

Just as Microsoft informed every body that their console would be released in the U.S at the 20th of november for a substantially high price, Nintendo went and suprised, and not the least shocked the X-box stand, that they would release the Gamecube 3 days earlier at half the price!

So now the U.S console war has become a lot more unpredictable than the Japanese console war, the companies attention turns to the 3rd biggest gaming market industry in the world: The UK.

Not much can be said about the outcome of this most interesting console war, because everyone seems so indesisive. Although, now us English have read or heard about the price of the Gamecube, trouble has begun to brew at Microsoft's headquarters about their high-priced, space consuming product. Gradually, in most of people's opinion, the Gmaecube has begun to be the next choice of many gamers across the country.

Even more bad news for Microsoft fans, is that there has been rumours that Microsoft may have the exact same problem as Sony did with the PS2 - production shortage. Which means that the few who want to buy a X-box, might have problems purchasing one (shame).

So in my opinion, the Gamecube will be the ruler of the next console war between them and X-box. PS2 will be ahead because of its head start and price drops, but it isn't in the war directly.

Like many other gamers, I simply can't wait for the Gamecube and its many wonderful release games.

Give me your opinions.

Thanks - Shocktrooper.

Yeah, I know what you mean. But after I first even saw Timesplitters, I instantly knew that this is the next console i'm going to get.

Oh and by the way, when you were trying to change your name and it f**ked up, you said : "oooppps a daisy, that looks utter sh*te.". Well you know what? That's the second time i've ever laughed whilst on this site.

Congratulations.

Okay they may have dropped their price by 30 pounds but to be honest 270 quid is still a lot of sponduli to be spending on a console. Oh and I agree about it looking quite snazzy as it looks class underneath my friends T.v.

Yaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnn another console wars topic. The name didn't really tell me much. Anyway I am going to get a GC as the name Nintendo always represents the word "quality". All of their consoles have been brilliant with everything working in them. I will also get one because of the affordable price tag. The reason I do not have a Ps2 is because of the crazy price tag. Also I think that all the other companies have got it wrong. People do not want a multimedia system that does everything. They want a console that plays great games thats it. People can buy a DVD player if they want one so much. I bet half of the people who own a Ps2 dont actually use it as a DVD player.

I don't think that the size of a console will affect my opinion of whether i buy it or not. It's the games that matter and I think that the GC has won in that departemnt.

Even thoguh this is another Console Wars topic ST this is a good one, but i dont agree with your opinion!

What proof do you have that Gcube will rule, it's not realeased anywhere. Even if it's a rubbish conosle people do look fowrard to any new console, no matter how bad or how good they are.

And as to what you said about X-box not going to do good in Japan cos of it's size is compleate rubbish. The Japenese arnt as familiar with Microsoft as well as they are with Nintendo.

The only proof we have is that PS2 will be king of console as it selling in the market and it is realised everywhere. But whatever you get i will guarantee that you will get a good buy!
