I wonder how many people did that? I know it closes windows. I use it frequently, as somehow the window closes faster than by pressing "x".

This is someone's review of Planetarion from back in January, the rules have slightly changed since then, but this will give you the gist of it:
"A genre of it's own.
I just couldn't find words to describe Planetarion. I thought at first That this was a space combat game, but there are too many players for that (in excess of 10,000). I thought maybe it was a resources management simulation, but there's too much conflict. This game, quite simply, has everything from action to strategy.
The game consists of attaining power for your planet and cluster while maintaining diplomatic relations with other sectors (and occasionally your own cluster). There are a limitless number of sectors (potentially), each sector has 25 planets, which each have 25 galaxies. It is in your best interests to ally with the members in your cluster, though this is not necessary. If you don't, however, chances are you will quickly be swamped by other clusters who are working together. Which brings me to one of the main highlights of the game. Allies are essential in this game, and never before have I seen this level of interactivity between players. You have the message boards which have new posts at least every 3 or so hours, plus it has an in - game IRC channel, allowing conversations between players. The IRC is not just for talking about the game, but is actual used to play it, in the respect players plan attacks, swap info and the like.
The game is also on - going in real - time. This means if you launch an attack at another planet, it tells you you have to wait 10 - 12 hours before it gets there. You can then log - out, make a sandwich, wash the car ect., come back and be told the attack will be there in 9 hours. Not only is this game highly addictive, it allows you to have a real life.
The community in this game has to be one the best in online gaming. You simply cannot play this game without interacting with other players. In between discussing ideas for cluster growth and arranging a hasty defense, you can organize an attack against enemy planets. Plus, all the people here are friendly, and people look poorly upon newbie bashers, and are often given a piece of their own medicine by bigger players. And nobody has a problem with you requesting supplies. The staff of Planetarion gave players a sizeable Christmas present in the form of resources which greatly helped the large influx of newbies get their feet. Most long - time players will actually reply to your messages for help and advice instead of laughing at you, and will even go as far as to organizing defense for you to ensure you have a good time when playing Planetarion.
Another big part of the game is conquest. You start by building up your fleet, which can compose of a number of ships, ranging from interceptors, phantoms, EMP firing spiders and mighty capital ships to name a few. By this time you have some waves ready, which are then launched at a planet. A few hours later it comes back telling you his puny planet is no match for your forces. Maybe then you might tell the rest of your cluster of these easy pickings. Soon, your attack is launched. They arrive 12 hours later, and disaster strikes. What you had previously thought to be an easy target has called his cluster to his defense and a sizeable force awaits you. Fortunately, some of your cluster decides to join the party............
This is just a very small part of an extremely large game, which easily Won our December game of the month.
Simply put, this is one of the best online games I have ever played, let alone it being the best web - based game. I have played games and there has always been some aspect of it that was annoying or frustrating. Some small little thing that I thought could easily be changed in a patch or something similar, but Planetarion has no such things. If I had to pick at something, (which would be at gun point) would be the refresh it has everyday which lasts about an hour in which you can't log on while the server cleans itself up, and having to wait so long for stuff to happen in this engrossing game. That's about all the negative points, but honestly they are joke compared to the excitement in this free game. And as always, this is a big bonus, especially in such a high quality game."
