I haven't got burnout 3 yet but am I right that the ramps in it are on crash mode because it seems pretty strange that ramps are just randomly placed on a freeway lol.

Yup, mainly online though as you don't get aftertouch.
So the ramps are optional and can you fly really high when you are boosting up it?

You get a 'crash breaker' after a certain amount of cars are smashed, which basically means you press a button and your car blows up.
Oh and the ramps suprisingly make you do jumps into the traffic to cause bigger crashes LOL.

What are they used for, to plough into other cars in the centre of a crossroad? It also looks like you can press r2 to blow up your car to cause even more damage lol, does this blow up other cars?
