"According to Famistsu, one mini-game sees four players battling in a 3 vs. 1 tournament. The player holding the microphone shouts "launch!" to fire missiles against the other players"

WOW!

I can hardly wait to shout "LAUNCH"

Welldone Nintendo for once again bringing the industry forward with your mind bending innovation.

LAUNCH!!1!!

Exactly... if they hinted the "Zelda series is gonna get VERY cool" we'd all get excited and the E3 event would have lived up to it.

But oh no, they tell us about the cool ideas of duel screens, GBA-GC connectivity and Microphone's. Sure they're nice ideas... but that is all they are.

I'm sure the mic will do a roaring trade in Japan - but it'll make slow progress in the West. We restrained players do not like to make a scene.

At least binge drinking can be put to good use.
Something to be proud of now.

Yeah - except Ninty themselves hyped the 2 screens as the big thing initially. It was the touch-screen that made things so wonderful, and that wasn't even announced until later.

Seriously though who honestly expected this to be any good? I remember for months we all thought it was gonna be the official announcement of the Bongo drums.

It's just a little prephiral that'll be used for a few games and then be forgotten about. Not a very good one either... like the super scope on the SNES and the Microphone on the N64.

Nintendo shock us a lot of the time... Cel-shaded Zelda came out of the blue, as did the gorgeous new Zelda title... as did the Resident Evil announcement.

But in the past 2 years Nintendo have put hype towards new "Gamecube ideas" such as connectivity and this mic. Going on Nintendo's track record we kinda expected something stunning... but when they hype something we just end up disappointed.

I think the DS is the only thing that Nintendo hyped and actually lived up to it.

Yeah it sounds a bit naff doesn't it...

*slaps head*

errr....

You know when Nintendo described how the 2 screens in DS would work... a completley useless explanation using a soccer title? This is exactly what they are doing here.

It's bound to be a laugh, even if it's a short lived one.

Nintendo said they had several prephirals that would "extend the life of the Gamecube" as in a prephiral that would allow for several new games to be made.

Like the bongo drums, being used for 3 totally different games. I'm sure the mic would be used for a few nice ideas....

I can imagine it doing well in Japan.
