Now that I've got that off my chest, I can see how a mic would be good for say Rainbow 6 offline on the cube.

If you want to bring out a peripheral that extends the life of the gamecube ho about bringing out a sensible one like a GC equivalent of the N64's 4MB Expansion Pak?
Double the Cubes memory and see what fun happens then.
If you're not going online in a big way then a microphone/headset whatever is like someone throwing a thimble full of water to fight a barn fire.

The game is supposed to be awful, if the game does use a mic which Nintendo denied early today then the game may actually get some attention from me.
