I have, of late, noticed a distinct lack of simian action in movies.
There is the famous one of course, namely King Kong.
Anymore?
Well, Greystoke, but he was more of a man raised by monkeys, so not strictly the same.

Orangutans!
One in The Cannonball Run - He drove a limo, drank beer and flipped the finger to Southern cops when pulled over.
And he may be related to perhaps the greatest movie ape ever...

Ladies and Gentlemen, a round of applause for..*drumroll*....Clyde.

Eastwood's sidekick in the "Any Which Way" movies.
A brilliant fighter, able to help with repairing Orville's truck and always "stealing my goddamn Oreo's" according to Eastwood's gnarly mum in those movies.
He would often lay in wait in dark barns and leap onto Eastwood to surprise him.
A bit like a monkey Kato from the Pink Panther movies.
Except Eastwood could never kick Clyde's behind, because as we all know, monkeys make excellent fighters.
And he even punched Hell's Angels upon the command of "Right Turn Clyde"

Any others? Er...

Well, Planet of The Apes of course, and that's being remade so we'll see what happens there, but I'm talking strictly about non-speaking monkeys that don't live in huts and bully humans into farming for them.

A few poor, poor films with monkeys as sidekicks in sports movies, but the best and most disturbing monkey film...Missing Link.

This was Elizabeth Shue's early role where she was menaced for 90 mins by a psycho gorilla wearing a tuxedo.
Fantastic.

Did you know that Hugh Grant has a production company, or something called Simian Somethingorother. Named so because Liz Hurley said Hugh always reminder her of a monkey.

There's a film called Phenomena which stars a straight razor wielding chimp. Towards the end 'Jennifer' (the main character) is saved from decapitation by the wee fellow, who proceeds to make a mess of her attacker's face.

The way Jackie Chan moved in most of his films always reminded me of a monkey.

He already has.

Project X is the Daddy of Chimp films.

Matthew Broderick plays a guy that works in an Air Force research base, part of a programme that teaches chimps to fly bomber planes in order to drop nukes.

They experiment with how much radiation monkeys can withstand and whether it would be worth it or not.

it's touching (really), moving, funny and contains almost 20 real life chimps in flight jumpsuits.

And a big old gorilla called "Bluebeard" that smokes.

My findings have turned up films with Monkey in their name. Good enough so far. Monkeys aren't usually credited "Monkey" in their films though... so it's kind of hard to find if there is one in it or not. Still, I expect watching any on of these films will give you a monkey.

There was a dodgy Disney Film. What am I saying, there were lots of Dodgy Disney Films.
Anyway this one involved an Astronaut who got switched with a Chimp (They both touched the same piece of Cosmic Moon rock or something) and only his son believed the monkey was his dad.
