Rocks :D

Seriously, it does. But what happened to the 2-Player co-op? I can only find a battle mode. Or isn't there a co-op mode?

I thought there was.

Anyhoo, this game is fantastic. Still keeps the charm of the original, but with the addition of cool new Pikmin races and loss of time limit. The controls seem a little easier too.

Shame on those of you waiting for the UK release - IMPORT IT!!

I never said that made it original, I'm just reminding you of the game because you seem to be thinking of something totally different.

Pikmin is totally superb, original and fun. I've yet to find someone who doesn't agree. Some found Pikmin a little annoying or short but most agree it was a class game.

Not true I've found you.

It has nothing to do with it being a Nintendo game get your head out of your ar$e. Doshin the Giant is a Nintendo game, an utter crap Nintendo game at that. Original yes, crap yes.

Pikmin is a stunning game there is literally so much to do and the land just breaths. It is fantastic game with 3 specialised little critters that allowed Miyamoto to create a selection of puzzles for us, the gamers, to work out.

Truly fantastic bosses, a great test in time management, wonderful wonderful graphics, a really compelling control system and some clever touches. Leaving blue Pikmin in the water and playing catch with the red pikmin remains a fond memory.

Blue Pikmin to knock down a water gate so Yellow Pikmin can be thrown, collect bombs, destroy a wall and obtain a ship part that the blue Pikmin will have to carry down.

Yellow Pikmin to get a ship part from up high, Red Pikmin to carry it through the flames and blue Pikmin to get it through the water.

Those genius little clams where you have to stratigically send Pikmin to hit the pearl and withdraw them before they eat the Pikmin.

Your battle technique how to kill a big bulbus without being eaten.

The moving of Pikmin during a fight with that three headed bird thing.

Being quick enough to rescue drowning Pikmin with the blue ones.

Not to mention building your army.

Increasing their power with the flower upgrades.

How can this game be accused of lacking depth? It was wonderful, and it even had a nifty challenge mode.

Addictive as hell and pure Nintendo.

And yes if Nintendo didn't make it, it would still be fantastic.

Me thinks you didn't properly play the game. Or you just couldn't get to grips with it. A startlingly original RTS.

I'm not arguing about Pikmin 2. I haven't played it so I can't comment.

But how is running around telling peopl eto collect something and take it to another place original?

Pikmin is the best original game to come out of gaming in years. If you can't see that, well your loss I suppose. Go back to playing F-Zero.

So basically, because it's "flower men" it's diffirent? They could just as easily be command and conquer soldiers, some that can swim, some that can jump really high, and some that can fight. Wow.

Finding things? Yes, that's OK, but not when that's pretty much the whole game, find 30 of these, once you've found them all, game over. Wow.

And building things? You build some bridges, lots of bridges. Fartoo many bridges. That's all you build.

Why cna't people see that it's nothing special and the only thing that makes it different from any other crappy is the fact that you're working with flowers. I could bet if someone (not Nintnedo) released a game the exact same, with the only difference being it's not all flowers and stuff, no-one here would like it. It's a gimmick, that's what it is, and it doesn't save it from bieng a bad game.

Pikmin is a game that involves controlling a selection of flower men and fighting, finding and building things??? I presume you've been playing a different game.

> Stuff about being pro-Nintendo

It is my character, it is my position of the forum.

For God's sake not everything that happens is a great thing. It's just every now and then I think something's good news whilst others disagree.

There were a collection of Nintendo fans on here and still do, say that the sale of RARE was a good thing. I was gutted, said I was, and went on about it. Still do.

The recent Microphone looks rubbish, might sell well but it doesn't interest me.

The reason why I am percieved as pro-Nintendo is by a select few gamers who found Wind Waker and Sunshine a dissapointment and I didn't. A select few gamers who find Nintendo treat Europeans really badly, I disagree that Europe is treated badly at all. A select few gamers who find third party support is a big deal, I don't find it a big deal at all.

I am pro-Nintendo yes. I shall not deny it. But not everything is great, I attacked Nintendo for their importing stance for example. Stopping importers rather than using the money to speed up conversions.

It was playable. I've never played a game where I've went "This game sucks" and I'd be "unable" to play it. But it was still crap. It was short, boring, and tasks were repetitive.

Pikmin 2 does sound better though.

And as for my attack, few here would disagree that you are far too pro-nintendo, and it is possible that things that happen ARE crap, and not a blessing in some other way.

No it didn't and that's because Free Radical Design have made a name for themselves. And the way they did it was VERY VERY clever.

Timesplitters for the PS2, "from the makers of Goldeneye" was a fantastic result for Sony. In reality the only reason it was exclusive is because the Dreamcast had died and the Gamecube and X-box was a year away. It got coverage in all the PS2 magazines, Sony fans bragged about the game to Nintendo/SEGA fans... It was covered brilliantly... everywhere wanted a piece of this new genius. And it was by far the greatest launch title the PS2 had.

So naturally EVERY new PS2 owner had heard of it and they were more than happy to tell their Nintendo loving mates. Timesplitters 2 comes along and suddenly PS2 fans are gutted (much like Viewtiful Joe on the Gamecube but in a much larger scale) as it goes to all 3 major formats. PS2 owners know the game is good so they get it regardless, and the Gamecube/X-box owners has heard so much about the original they snap it up too.

Releasing a title initially exclusive to one platform means extra coverage for that game and it REALLY works. Free Radical did an ace job and now they can release unknown/original projects and people will want it because of the developer. Similar in a way to the status RARE and Nintendo have made for themselves.

Second Sight reached number 6, it didn't sell amazingly well but I believe it reached expectations.

I'd prefer Free Radical's second design team (the one not behind the splitters franchise) to develop another original third person action adventure. I dunno about you but I think they did a sterling job and any improvements (longer game/onslaught of guards easier to deal with) won't change how much fun the original was.

Although it is probably safe to say Timesplitters: Future Perfect will be their final title for the Gamecube/X-box and PS2.

You're right, FDR are a great company to be behind the Cube so solidly, I wasn't doubting if it was made it wouldn't be Cube-bound, I was musing on whether it will be made at all. It didn't sell too badly..
