You should always pay the extra £30. Gets you a brand new xbox with a controller S with a full years guarantee. And often a free game or two.

Oh dear, im starting to get concerned, ive just checked the sellers feedback and all 12 are from where the seller has bought 99p ebooks, the seller is now selling the xbox i bought, a ps2 and a 40gb ipod.

EDIT: Ive just checked, im covered under the paypal buyer protection.

Im praying for a samsung, but im not that lucky.

The technical term for that is "broken". If that is a Samsung drive one then you don't deserve it. But it sounds like one of the dodgy Thompsons.

The first version is commonly accepted as buggy. I have one and it crashes often, games experience slow down and the lens gets clogged up with dust or whatever frequently, causing problems for reading DVDs and sometimes games.

Where do you get that from?! The version 1.0 Xbox with Samsung drive was the best, most reliable and least prone to crashes. There was a batch with faulty Thompson drives that scratched discs, but once they were all replaced it was fine.

1.6 motherboards are more troublesome to mod though, and since it's an old style controller, i doubt it.

Just hope that it's the newer model of the Xbox.

The original ones are riddled with problems.
