Usually we compare games with the film industry... but what about the music industry.

POP music would be the continuous production of poor quality PSX games that come in hundreds which are aimed at uninformed kids.

URBAN music would the the Tony Hawks and Jet Sets.

ROCK would be things like Crazy taxi... the inner city vivid games.

How aboput other forms of music?

Although...

Actually man... you've made an amazing point...

Given the size of the computer idustry,

and the wide variety of different age groups, interests, even prices of games...

It strikes me that game releases a beginning (and only just beginning really) to be comparable to music releases...

There are games which sell by the bucket load (Tomb Raider series, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, etc..) which are critisised for being shallow and repetitive... but which are VERY popular with the general public... could all easily be compaired to Pop Music, (itself selling enourmous numbers, lapped up by the masses, whilst being critised by those interested in the musical field)

Now... I'm, not talking about the music in the games, but the games themselves (as a whole) the design, content, presentation, style and overall feel of the title... wether released for mass consumption, or aimed at a more selective market, part of a theme, etc..

???
