The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
In the past few weeks we have noticed that FM has gone for good, also now Sniper has gone and today we see that the FOG's best poster has gone.
Also M16 announced his leaving, and he was a great like the others.
Only a a number of us really understand where these people are coming from, back in November last year THE FOG was amazing, every day I would look forward to reading peoples comments, people who loved to talk about gaming and not for the winning purpose, I came as a newbie back then and was amazed at the quality of the topics... since then everyday I have seen a decrease in the quality and the numbers have grown way to high.
The only way I can see a way through this is that SR make a forum specially for the ones Grix mentioned, as those are the people that made the FOG great.
We don't want to win games, we just want to talk about gaming, so SR give Grix and others what they deserve. a forum for the greats, because if you didn't have them, there would be no forums.
Otherwise I can see many others disappering. (including the likes of Edgy, ssxpro, pb etc...)

I have considered not returning to this site before.
But I'd rather stay and try to make an effort to help restore FOG to what it once was a year ago!
It was a board of gamers around Britain who knew what they were talking about. We had a steady number of new members as we did leavers which ment there weren't too many people posting new topics which are really repeats of old ones.
Now FOG is overrun by loads of new member...loads of which I wouldn't be able to say anything about them because I haven't got a clue. The forums are repeating what was said about 6 months ago (some topics even more recent) and the messages are getting more and more pathetic!
This new system of rank is making it worse for everyone here! People are posting more and more crap (sorry SR) just so that they become a regular! Maybe there should be a better system or no system at all!
The board was once at it's best...but constant improvements have in the long run made it worse for the REAL regulars and for those who used to come on here for quality games talk.
Something drastic needs to be done to improve UKdiscussions and it's gonna take a lot from all of us to make that change!

It may not be fair on others but then again the people of this new forum could choose two people to enter every month...if they muck up they can go back down.
