The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
Also M16 announced his leaving, and he was a great like the others.
Only a a number of us really understand where these people are coming from, back in November last year THE FOG was amazing, every day I would look forward to reading peoples comments, people who loved to talk about gaming and not for the winning purpose, I came as a newbie back then and was amazed at the quality of the topics... since then everyday I have seen a decrease in the quality and the numbers have grown way to high.
The only way I can see a way through this is that SR make a forum specially for the ones Grix mentioned, as those are the people that made the FOG great.
We don't want to win games, we just want to talk about gaming, so SR give Grix and others what they deserve. a forum for the greats, because if you didn't have them, there would be no forums.
Otherwise I can see many others disappering. (including the likes of Edgy, ssxpro, pb etc...)
Thanks

'The Special Forum' how about that? Everyone
> can call it the FOG but it will be special?
SPOG- Special Future Of Gaming.
I would agree that the content of threads has gone downhill - even in my short time on here.
The suggestion about having a forum for the 'old gang' is OK, but it is restrictive to those who are newer to the site who make decent posts. Also, it would take away some of the views of these from the general discussions, as they would be concentrating on their own forum. Some of us value your views and opinions!! I liked er no's suggestion of a promotion/relegation to a 'premier league' discussion forum, as it would give some incentive to people stop posting rubbish.
Another suggestion could be that only a select group, such as those in the 'premier league', could start discussions in a certain forum - that way only decent topics are started, but any members could contribute.
Alternatively, not all new discussions would be accepted - they would go through someone acting as 'monitor' to keep the level of rubbish and duplicate discussions down (how many 'console wars' discussions can there be at one time?) - although this would obviously create extra work for someone.
In the meantime, how about the noteables scanning through the discussions and suggesting that the cr*p is deleted?
