I went to Brockham, home to what was the biggest bonfire in England until Health and Safety got involed in the early 90s. Not quite as good as last year, but the fireworks display was still bloody good... sadly, my camera isn't.

Strangely enough, i was talking about this with my mum the other day. The way these special days throughout the year really have no meaning anymore. No-one cares or even thinks about the events that they represent anymore. They're just all a reason for having a party or getting presents/drunk/stuffed.

That's what I was thinking. On a five minute walk to my mates house last night, I saw a whole display's worth of fireworks coming from various back-gardens.

It's the biggest explosion I'll see this year, unless I go to Iraq, or stare at the local chemical plant until my eyes melt the bits that make it not explode.
