Is there going to be a Star Wars DVD box set that includes all Star Wars movies from episode 1 to 6 ? I was thinking about getting the Star Wars Trilogy box set and each of episodes 1, 2, and 3 independantly, but that would be a total loss if a complete box set came out, so does anyone have any idea about that ?

Everyone knows they are just going to milk it as much as possible.

Will the new players be backwards compatable with DVD players?

If not, what are the advantages to upgrading from the consumer's point of view?

When you do read the second one, you'll see that your points are addressed there.

Havn't read the second one yet but all those reasons really don't bother me. I still doubt Microsoft will go with Blu-Ray as the average consumer doesn't give a crap what is going into their console. Also, 60 gigs is more than enough and developers will probably struggle to fill that up, Blu-Ray is all well and good if you're doing mahoosive 6 year projects but otherwise its going to be a chore to fill all that up with actually decent content. There is also the fact that HD-DVD is much cheaper to produce and therefore (should) be old at cheaper prices.

In all other respects HD-DVD is pretty dead though, yes.

Not dead, but maybe not far off.

The second of those articles is long, but well worth a read.

Or rather Blu-Ray, as HD-DVD is all but dead.
