Anyone know of anywhere? Haven't checked out the new MAXX range (is it out yet?), but PC World have a half-decent one for £500. Not for me, or for gaming, just general purpose for a mate who has less of a clue than me, and it has to be store/web bought.

Dell are starting to get a good reputation again, aren't they?

Jesus, this is good:

Monkey_Man, serious offer here. I'm no longer using my PC as I've got a laptop now. The flat screen is actually facing the opposite direction to me now...

I'll be willing to sell, everything is in top condition and it is a MESH PC.

Basic specs are:

Athlon 3500+
300GB HD
2GB Dual Channel RAM
Geforce 256mb 6600GT graphics card.

Let me know if your interested as I was looking to stick it in the paper or something...

What about the graphics card? The PCworld one has twice the RAM, but is a lower model.

That DELL you linked to was a better computer. I've heard good things about DELL very recently, apparantly their computers and their support are very good these days.

I've thought about building one myself (more than capable), but this is quicker and easier. I can always put better parts in it later.

Can the FSB be overclocked?

You should be able to do better building yourself. I don't like Intel chips for much other than encoding.

That processor whilst not a slouch, suffers from the 533 MHz FSB. That's not good, it'll mean memory bandwidth is a bottleneck.

Is this any good? Thinking og getting this myself actually, just for simplicity.
