2001 what a great year this is! Started with Conker and release dates put forward, then the GBA was released in Japan!

Next we have US and European GBA's to come out (2 weeks for us). Then Spaveworld in Japan and Nintendo show in the UK! Then the release of the Gamecube in Japan, then in the US completley knocking Microsoft for 6!

Whilst we enjoy the final breaths of the N64 and prepare for the release of the Gamecube! What a cool Nintendo year this is already!

Sony has had to take a back seat to the Nintendo Vs Microsoft war and Sega has sadly departed but Sega is probably the 3rd party developer both Nintendo and Microsoft will be fighting over!

We are only half way through this year and the next 6 months will prove to be the most exciting year for every Nintendo fan!

Here's to the future

Ok I've heard of Pikmin but I have no idea of what it's about. Why don't you explain it to me. Please.

Good luck with the future Nintendo, although I am sure

It could probably been made the tiny's fraction bit better.

BUT

-It had already been delayed and they wouldn't have made it for shcedule.

-And it's only rival was a grey 32bit console from Sony

-At the time 64bit was the best around!

In some ways it'll be a great year for gaming but we will be spoilt for choice which means I will have to decide which console to get. Right now I have my sights set firmly on GameCube. My brother can't decide between GC or X-Box though and it will save me a lot of money if a split the console with him. I wouldn't even dream of getting a PS2 at the moment but by the time X-Box and GC are out it will have a much stronger catalogue of games including The Bouncer, MGS2 and GT3. This will make it even more difficult to decide but because I was so pleased with my N64 I think that will push me towards GC, what with games like Perfect Dark 2, Rogue Squadron 2, Starfox, Luigi's Mansion, Wave Race: Blue Storm and plenty of others to choose from. All of the sequels in the list were games I had on the N64 and were all superb. Oh my god I forgot to mention Zelda! Will you ever forgive me? Ever? I feel so bad! How could I forget Zelda? How? I mean why me? WHY? WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?

Surely this is nintendo's quietest year over here for some time.. next year is the big one!

This year, the N64 has slowly passed away with many shops no longer selling it. All media attention has been concentrated on the PS2, and forthcoming GC and Xbox, and the N64 has been somewhat neglected.

There was Zelda... but then Nintendo always makes several excellent games a year... compare this year with last when we had Zelda 64 oot, PD and a whole host of others.

Anyway, next year will be the big one... the GC get released over here (or maybe I have got the date completely wrong????), but even so, next year will play host to the second gen of Xbox and GC games, all competing with PS2s strongest line up so far... that'll be a great time for gaming!

Remember that Sony and Nintendo were going to join forces before the Playstation was even thought of, but Nintendo turned them down. Just think what it would be like if they had joined forces!
