The theme/topic is:

Alchemy

That is, anything to do with transformation, transmutation, transfiguration, transmogrification, metamorphosis, alteration, etc.

But I've used the word Alchemy (the so-called magical process of turning base metal into gold - you probably knew that!) because I'd prefer entries to be about "improving" transformation as opposed evil or gruesome transformation.

Having said that, do whatever you want - though I will look more favourably on the ones which have a positive slant (because that seems trickier to pull off).

Having said that, do whatever you like!

Closing date: around October 10th.

Result

3rd: The Darknest Hour - Prophet.
I like the way it progresses: from the eerie bewilderment of the waiting room, to the bedside, to the numbness in the car park, to the positive outcome. Every stage is expressed concisely yet with depth.

2nd: For Precious Gold! - Meka Dragon.
Enjoyed the dark, old world scene, the alchemic details, the ruffians :-), and the tension of the story with it's surprising and clever ending.

1st: A Sunset Across The Waves - Stryke.
Loved this. The imagery of the sunset and the sea, the scrawling of symbols in the sand, the voice of the character with his slightly cynical tone, and the mysterious, magical finish. My personal favourite, and that's why it won.

i've got my one, nearly finished as well. Its a tale that questions the ethics of life and what is right and what is wrong. A little more refinement and it'll be ready for some reading. just over 3 pages.

I got bored last night and started one. It's not very good. It's not got any messages about the ethics of life or any deep message.

It's got an alchemist. I haven't even named him yet. I might call him Stryke.

I've finished my story, assignments loooming, time is short, i was hoping to finish my story with a supernatural ending, but i'm not entirely sure now. I'll probably try it.

Tried something a bit different.

Didn't end up being particulalry positive, but went for base alchemy, as opposed to a bastardised version of.

i've finished my story, its a very long story, has a supernatural spooky ending and its not a positive transformation. Does have a happy ending though.

I've managed to knock something together. It doesn't have Boba Fett, unfortunately, although I tried.

I suppose you'd call it a positive transformation, yeah. Anyway, it's not that good, but felt I should give it a shot.

Peace out.

The coolest ISP ever!
In my opinion, the ISP is the best I have ever used. They guarantee 'first time connection - everytime', which they have never let me down on.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
