I used to do the ones on Stash the Cash back when they were good. There'd be a big mess of pink lines and the question would be something like 'How many triangles are in the diagram?' I never phoned in but I was usually able to get the answer before the people who phoned in did.

The answer probably does lie in the 1: 2: 3: thing, I bet it's asking for the ratio of 1:55 - 21, 2:11 x 11 etc etc etc blah blah blah
