Hammond is a legend.
Top Gear works so well because all 3 of them have similar yet entirely different senses of humour, and they work off each other extremely well.

Top Gear, those "healthy living" style programmes on BBC1, Braniac and a few others which I can't remember the name of.

Pfft, Hammond is a hyperactive chipmunk, whereas James May is just plain sanguine and refined.
Ugh, James May is incredibly boring. When he came on for those bits the others let him do (Restore a Car and Top Driving Tune), I'd usually take a loo break.

He's forever being voted in the top numbers for crappy programmes like "Britains Worst Celebrity" and all that sort of nonsense when he's actually better at presenting and a lot funnier than Ant & Dec, Davina McCall or any of the other nobtards who get drafted in to present some cheap ass gameshow when nobody else wants to do it.

His name is JAMES MAY, why people can't remember it I don't know. He's not talentless by a damn sight, he's actually quite entertaining to watch.
