Ah, my local cinema doesn't have a Velvet rope. It's the perfect cinema though, it's an old 1950's established one run by people who were in thei prime back then

If they cared I'm sure you'd be stopped as there's only one screen and one entrance

I find if you grow some face furniture that helps. Makes you look older.

I've never had a problem when actually buying a cinema ticket, it's only when you go to have the ticket torn that I've been caught out. You can't get past them without being spotted due to that damn velvet rope they have.

Not entirely sure. The people he kicked out did seem under age but he never spoke to us because we decided it would be sensible not to find out so we hid by slouching down as far as we could in our seats.

Was he checking ages or just checking you had tickets?

I was at a cinema and it would have been easy to just walk into the next screen after the film finished. They might kick the people out without tickets but i think they expect the original cashier to already have checked your age if you have been sold a ticket.

I could get into 18 films after i finish 6th form because i am smart and look old enough to have been working or at a job. Obviously if i was in school uniform they wouldnt let me but these clothes are like smart work clothes so they are less likely to ask my age :)

Never had that problem myself. I did almost get caught when a bloke came in midway through the film with a torch, looking for people that shouldn't be there. The cinema was more than half empty too so he should have found us but failed, taking only a couple of people from near the back.

To be honest most of the cinemas I go to wouldn't allow that policy, they're run by meticulous and greasy geeks who would challenge you if you changed your signatures width by 0.1 of a millimetre

They ask you all to stand there and although they're looking at who's buying the tickets they notice the groups and who's where. Unless you pretended to be with another group to get through it wouldn't happen

And you're organised into groups inside the cinema, by a Security Guard who doesn't want you all bunched up. That only happened when the queue was spilling out the door though ...

They stopped my mate buying tickets because not everyone was with him who was going to see the film. The bloke behind the counter said that all people had to be there with ID

I prefer the method of finding sombody that is the right age (not a stranger, but somebody you know) and then go and buy popcorn whilst they get the tickets. Then all is fine.
