Small edits permitted
I was hoping for pictures other than landscapes, imagination regarding the subject title would have gone a huge distance. Sorry Tim, a picture of the family dawg, as cute as it is, just didn’t do it for me. :D Anyhoo: -.
(Please note, I’m looking for a mood or feeling here. Quality is secondary.)

Love the contrast between the mountains and sky.

Marvellous shot, but the boat really takes me out of the picture. This is a case where I’d argue that a slight photoshop edit would really improve the overall effect.

I love this. It’s pretty empty, but the off centre few people in the boat really make it. The cityscape on the horizon screams industry and activity, and these people are slap bang in the middle of nowhere, on a calm sea. It suggested the topic title like no other entry IMHO.
Your other entry is very, very nice, but I really don’t like a subject being centred in the middle of the shot. Weren’t you taught anything about composition dammit! ;D
Considerations

Crossbob – http://img71.imageshack.us/img71/3429/cloudsfromaeroplanewindow9sl.jpg I’m a sucker for looking out of plane windows, shame the camera is of pretty low quality.

Beautiful. Although are you sure you took that yourself?
J-42 http://img99.imageshack.us/my.php?image=serenity0117ce.jpg I love the focus.
All were of high standard, all were interesting.
I hand over to you FFF.
> That's the obvious option, yet I would regard that as cheating.
*shrug* I personally don't think a small amount of editing can be regarded as cheating persay, if the overall effect is enhanced. If it's massive, and obvious then the shot is probably not worth it in the first place. My beach shot with the two palm trees had a hotel editied out, a person in the distance and some rubbish removed.

Now yousee, that's where I'd break out photoshop.

I agree completely, except that one building on the side throws the whole picture off for me.
I had a corking picture of my rig from over the weekend, cans strend around about / on top, and WoW running in the background.
THAT'S my idea of serenity.
Alas, the camera has decided to corrupt it. Nooooooo!

Doesn't it have to be a picture you took yourself?
