I actually like Astroturf - when playing hockey, the ball is slightly more predictable, and doesn't bobble.
Football - I prefer grass, but the astro at Goals ain't so bad - no matter how many slide tackles I do, I never get cut or even grazed.

I haven't played on astro for a while, but I've always enjoyed it because a good pitch does look nice.

Yeah, astroturf is knee rippingly good. As a person prone to scarring, I feel like an albino in the Australian midday sun when on the astro. About 75% of all my scars can be attributed to either football or hockey matches played on an astro pitch.
