This movie can't be any less entertaining than Resident Evil can it?

To be honest, that's pretty much what I was expecting from when I first heard it was going to be filmed. Silent Hill looks like it'll be a good translation, I think the Doom movie will be a corking lads / beer movie.
I never thought the game was disturbing to to be honest, it just threw cheap "cat in the box" scares at you.
It'll also be difficult to re-create the forboding atmosphere of the game, with a whole team of god bless america types, throwing quips and jibes at each other every 5 minutes. The game was disturbing because the player was on his own for the most part.

The FPS stuff does actually look very good. It might be what makes this movie worth going to watch.

No, it apparently had the fanboys cheering at the comic con where it was first shown. It's been put in as a nod to the game.
