You heard Tiago is going to Lyon for £6 million?
Let me get this straight. Chelsea offered an increasing amount of money each time for Essien, right? And one of those bids was definitely £21 million + Tiago, right? I know this.
So Essien was £24.4 million. Let's do some maths.
Chelsea have, in fact, bought Essien for £18.4 million + Tiago. Which is £2.6 million less than their penultimate offer.

Riise deserves to be in the team if only for the beauty of his majestic flat volley. And y'know, all his other qualities and that.
I don't like Riise as a defender. I prefer him as a midfielder but Zenden is in the way.
