ok, I might only be 16 but I'm ladened down with responsibilities. At the moment I'm doing full time (9.00am - 3.30pm) work experience in a journalist office (obviously unpaid). Then I begin work at 4.00pm in a small shop in a mainly unionist area, I'm catholic.

Tomorrow 23rd August will either make or break my life. yup, my GCSE results are out!!!! Iv been accepted to do a media course in my local college but I'd love to do English literature as an A-Level, that's my main priority.

Ok to the point, as I write drugged up butterflies are somersaulting energetically in my stomach at the mere mention of the results. The time of writing is 11.43 am Monday 22nd August meaning I have 20 hours and 7 minutes approx (Im crapola @ maths - yea cant w8 4 dat result!) til I will be given the results slip!!!!!!

I need help!!!! (not mental though, despite wat u mite hear)

So is the wait worse than the actual tests? I DIDN"T feel like this in may!!!!!!

I got pretty rubbish GCSEs - B in Maths, lots of C's, couple of D/E's. Nothing to write home about. Still got me onto some A Level courses, which I promptly skipped and played guitar through Sixth Form. Not to say I didn't learn anything, just couldn't put in the effort to pass. I was 19, quite highly skilled, but no qualifications. So I temped, made a bit of money, then took a Foundation course at a Uni when I felt it was time for me to put in the effort - left with an A in IT, B in Physics, and B in Electronics, as well as some other qualifications. I was then able to get into Uni (which I left after 3 years of a 4 course, but that's another story - I *am* going back soon!!!).

So yeah, it doesn't matter - there are plenty of options to educate and qualify yourself later on in life. Don't slit your wrists and bleed on your make-up!

Results day isn't all that it's cracked up to be.

You go in, collect your results, go home. I've been through it three times now (GCSE, A/S level and A Level) and it's all the same.

Don't worry about it, you'll probably do fine. Oh and also, try not to listen to the elitists who walk into college and make stupid comments like "exams are easy", because they usually fail anyway.

That's it really.
