With the way Vince is making everyone tone down their moves I doubt any ref will be doing an "X" for a long time to come

yeah, but my point was that the refs only throw the X up if the guy can't finish.
edit: Wardy - no worries dude.

There have been some matches where wrestlers have been badly injured and still carried on to a finish - one that sticks out in my mind is when HHH ripped his thigh muscle during a tag match when him and Stone cold were a tag team that put him out for 8 months but he still let Jericho put the walls of jericho on him.
ther reason you didn't see the ref do it between Richards/Masters is because although stevie took a massive hit to the face, the main rule of pro wrestling on that scale it that you FINISH the match. guys pick up broken noses all the time and although stevie has his orbital socket duffed as well, he still got up and finished. The X is for when guys aren't going anywhere without treatment (like when Owen pildrove Stone Cold)

I am wondering whether the ref would have done it when Masters broke RIchards nose.
I expect the ref did it when Kidman knocked out Chavo with the SSP.
I dont remember seeing it though...will have to watch it again one day to see!

Last time I saw it was when Heidenreich dropped Stevie Richards on his head...
Speaking of Stevie, noticed he was back to his crappy pink pants on last weekend's velocity, so I'm guessing no more bWo :'-(

Yeah i was watching for that. I have never actually seen a referee do it. I thought Summerslam was my lucky night but it wasnt to be!
